A QR Code is a two dimensional bar code which when scanned using your camera phone enables you to access some pre-written content or complete a task. For instance, read some text, access a web site, send an sms or an email.
PointBeyond have developed a QR Code web part for SharePoint. An authorised SharePoint Administrator can install this on your SharePoint site to display selected user profile information as a QR Image on your MySites – effectively a digital business card. The image containing the information in V-Card format can then be scanned directly from the screen using a mobile phone camera to facilitate sharing contact details.
