Every organisation knows the benefits of providing high quality, easily accessible information to employees. However, in reality, training materials often sit on corporate intranets or in email inboxes without ever being looked at by staff.

A partnership between SharePoint application specialist PointBeyond and multimedia experts Just90.tv seeks to change this. We have created an application to transform training material, organisational policies and procedures into engaging, easily digestible 90 second video bursts. The videos are then kept in a specially designed SharePoint multimedia learning centre which can be either on premise or in the cloud.

The multimedia site is easy to use and manage, especially if users are already familiar with SharePoint. For example, documents and online questionnaires can easily be associated with videos, enabling a new starter to watch a video, download a checklist to follow and then take a short test to confirm that they understand the relevant procedure. SharePoint’s reporting capabilities then allow managers to see which topics are most popular and ensure compliance with internal / regulatory training policies.
