Bridging the gap between business
and technology to deliver intelligent,
cost effective SharePoint applications
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

The Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is a provider of specialist mental health services operating across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. The trust have a SharePoint 2007 intranet that is crucial for information finding through search. The site is accessed 24 hours a day by over 3,500 people from 373 teams spread over multiple locations.

As the environment has been heavily used for the past two years, AWP required a health check to give them assurance that SharePoint best practices are being adhered to, that the environment was stable and that it was able to support future requirements including a possible upgrade to SharePoint 2010. AWP were looking to move away from using shared drives for document storage and collaboration and to migrate this content across to SharePoint.

SharePoint 2007 Health Check and Strategy Planning

PointBeyond spent time assessing the AWP SharePoint implementation, reviewing their current situation and corporate IT strategy to see how SharePoint could best meet their requirements.

“PointBeyond listened carefully to the problems we have experienced,” said Sue Strongman, Webmaster at AWP. “They made the effort to really understand our day to day challenges and how SharePoint fitted within our IT delivery as a whole. We were very pleased with the report received and the work done for us."
