Our story
PointBeyond was established by MD Ian Woodgate. He started out as a Microsoft SharePoint® consultant, managing countless SharePoint implementation and customisation projects. On just about every project he worked on he could see the amount of pain and frustration caused by apparently simple, every-day tasks.
So he designed some solutions to fix this. The first product was Straightforward™ Timesheets. The response was overwhelmingly positive and it was soon followed by Straightforward™ Expenses and Straightforward™ Projects.
With a team of developers and business experts, design and development continues, with regular enhancements and more products yet to come.
Our philosophy
Keep it simple. Any tool that is designed to make our lives easier ought to be easy to use. Our products keep simplicity in mind – easy to implement, easy to use and easy to extract information from. Too many products overcomplicate things with functionality that confuses the user. We don’t do this. But we do give you everything you need to make the job easier and help you cut costs.
Keep it straightforward. We called our products “Straightforward™” because that’s what we want them to be. And that’s the kind of relationship we want with our customers. Our brand values are based on this premise and we work really hard to stick to them.
Why SharePoint?
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and Windows SharePoint Services are widely used to manage collaboration and documentation. It seemed a logical step to build solutions that integrate with SharePoint so that processes continue to be joined-up.
Using SharePoint means that our applications can be made available over the Web. And because they use a SQL Server database they benefit from scalability. What’s more SQL Reporting Services makes it easy for you to write your own reports and really drill-down into the information you need.
